    1.
    Introduction and acceptance: Welcome to GoChop’s User Agreement ("Agreement") The Agreement contains the terms and conditions governing your access to and use of our web app, recipe management services, and content (collectively, "GoChop Services").
    2.
    Who We Are:We are Gochop Limited (“GoChop” for short) – a company operating under Hong Kong’s law. We provide a web app for households to plan meals together, import and manage recipes (including recipes derived from videos you link), generate shopping lists, and coordinate cooking with family members and domestic helpers.     Privacy policy:Your use of GoChop Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes the data we collect, including our method of collection, our use, disclosure, and protection of personal data. By using GoChop Services, you consent to our collection and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with how we handle your data, your only option is to refrain from using GoChop Services.
    4.
    User accounts and authentication: To manage recipes and use other features on GoChop Services, you must create an account and submit personal data to us. By creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself as prompted during the registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the data and for updating it as necessary.
    The following requirements apply to your registration:
    4.1
    Account Eligibility:You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use GoChop Services. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.
    4.2
    Account Security:You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your password, and for restricting access to your account. You agree to notify GoChop immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not you have authorized those activities.
    4.3
    Third-Party Authentication Services:We offer the option to sign up or log in using third-party social services, such as Facebook and Google. If you choose to authenticate via these services, you allow GoChop to access and use certain information from your third-party account, such as your name and email address, in accordance with the privacy settings you have on the applicable social media account. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of third-party authentication complies with the terms and conditions of those services. Click on Google or Facebook to read their terms of services. Sign-in is available via Google (subject to Google’s own terms and privacy policy) or via a one-time verification code delivered to your email address or phone number. By choosing code-based sign-in you consent to receiving those verification messages; delivery is performed by third-party email/SMS providers acting on our behalf.
    4.4
    Account Suspension/Termination: You have the right to terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion button in your profile area. GoChop reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe that you have violated this Agreement or engaged in unauthorized or illegal activities. If your account is terminated, you may lose access to your content and any other information associated with your account. GoChop is not liable for any loss resulting from such termination.
    By creating and using a GoChop account, you acknowledge and agree to these terms regarding account management and authentication.
    5.
    Your use of GoChop Services:By accessing and using GoChop Services, you agree to comply with this Agreement and all applicable laws and regulations. Your use is subject to the following terms:
    5.1
    Permitted Uses:GoChop provides a platform for recipe sharing and management, meal planning, and ingredient purchase. You may use GoChop Services for personal, non-commercial purposes to (i) import, browse, save, and manage recipes; (ii) plan meals and add recipes to your calendar; (iii) purchase ingredients through our partner services; and/or (iv) share and interact with content, including user-generated recipes.
    5.2
    Prohibited Activities:When using GoChop Services, you agree not to (i) engage in unlawful activities, including using GoChop Services for any illegal purpose or in violating any local, state, national, or international law; (ii) misuse the web app, including disrupting or interfering with the normal operation, such as by transmitting viruses, spamming, or overloading our servers; (iii) scrape or harvest data, including by engaging in unauthorized data mining, scraping, or use of automated systems to extract data from the web app; (iv) post harmful content, including uploading and sharing content that is offensive, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise harmful to others; or (v) infringe on anyone’s intellectual property, including GoChop’s intellectual property and those of other users and third parties.
    5.3
    Compliance with Local Laws:You are responsible for ensuring that your use of GoChop Services complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, including those related to privacy, data protection, and online conduct.
    5.4
    Monitoring and Enforcement:GoChop reserves the right to monitor your use of GoChop Services to ensure compliance with this Agreement. We may investigate and take appropriate action against any user who violates this Agreement, including reporting unlawful activity to law enforcement and terminating your access.
    5.5
    Households and Shared Access:GoChop is organised around households. When you create a household and invite members — including family members and domestic helpers — the meal plans, shopping lists, tasks, and recipes of that household are visible to and editable by its members according to their access. You are responsible for only inviting people you are authorised to add, for informing them that their activity within the household is visible to other members, and for removing members when appropriate. The household owner controls membership.
    5.6
    Sharing beyond your household:Some features let you share content outside your household today (such as sending a copy of a recipe), and we may introduce broader sharing — for example publishing recipes or week menus to other GoChop users. Sharing is always something you choose per item; you control the audience at the moment you share, and you should not share content containing personal information about others without their agreement.
    6.
    User Content: Aside from content from GoChop and affiliates, our web app also allows users to submit, post, and share their own content, including recipes, photos, comments, and other materials (collectively, "User Content"). For any User Content you submit to our web app, you agree to the following terms:
    6.1
    Rights to submit and share User Content:User Content includes recipes you create, ingredients and photos you upload, week menus and meal plans you build, tasks and notes you add, and links you submit. If you choose to share User Content beyond your household — for example by sending a copy of a recipe to another user, or, where the feature is available, publishing a recipe or week menu for other GoChop users to see — you grant us the licence needed to display it to the audience you selected, and you understand that content shared publicly can be viewed, saved, and reused by others. However, by submitting User Content, you grant GoChop a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such User Content in connection with GoChop Services. This includes the right to use your User Content for marketing and promotional purposes on our web app, social pages, and channels – whether existing now or to be added later.
    6.2
    Responsibility for User Content:You are solely responsible for the User Content you upload to our web app. This means that you must ensure that (i) the User Content is accurate and not misleading; (ii) you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the User Content, including respecting the intellectual property rights of others; and (iii) the User Content does not violate any laws or the rights of any third party, including privacy rights and rights of publicity.
    6.3
    Prohibited User Content:With respect to User Content, you must not (i) post offensive or inappropriate User Content, including User Content that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or hateful; (ii) upload User Content that infringes on the intellectual property or other rights of third parties, such as copyrighted material or trademarks, without proper authorization; (iii) share malicious User Content, such as viruses, malware, or any other material intended to disrupt or harm GoChop Service or GoChop, its affiliates, or other users; or (iv) post false or misleading User Content intended to deceive other users.
    6.4
    Moderation and Removal:You are aware that we do not pre-screen User Content but reserve the right to review, monitor, and remove any User Content that violates this Agreement or is deemed inappropriate at our sole discretion. We may also suspend or terminate your account if you repeatedly violate the terms in this section.
    6.5
    User Feedback: If you provide GoChop with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about GoChop Services ("Feedback"), you acknowledge that such Feedback is not confidential, and you authorize GoChop to use this Feedback without restriction or compensation.
    6.6
    Imported Third-Party Video Content:GoChop lets you submit links to YouTube videos or playlists. GoChop does not host these videos; playback is provided through YouTube’s embedded player and remains subject to YouTube’s Terms of Service. Videos and their underlying content remain the property of their creators and/or YouTube. You may only submit links to content you are entitled to use, and you must not use this feature to circumvent any restriction imposed by the content owner or by YouTube. Recipes derived from third-party videos may be removed if a rights holder objects; report concerns to [email protected].
    6.7
    AI-Assisted Features:Some features — including extracting ingredients and steps from video descriptions or transcripts, recipe checks, and translations — are produced with the assistance of automated AI systems. AI output can contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for verifying quantities, ingredients (including allergens), cooking times, and food-safety-critical steps before relying on them. GoChop provides AI-assisted output “as is” and does not warrant its accuracy.
    By submitting User Content, you agree to the terms above and understand that GoChop is not liable for any user Content provided by users. You also agree to respect the rights of other users and to engage in a community that promotes positive and constructive interactions.
    7.
    Reporting intellectual property infringement: As already highlighted, we do not support users submitting User Content that infringes any individual’s copyright or other intellectual property. Therefore, if you are a user or a third party who believes that your intellectual property rights have been infringed by content on GoChop Services (for example, a recipe you legally own is appearing on our web app without your approval), please contact us promptly at [email protected] with a detailed description of the alleged infringement and sufficient proof. We will take appropriate action, which may include investigating and removing the infringing content and terminating the accounts of repeat infringers.
    8.
    Our intellectual property rights: This section outlines the ownership and use of intellectual property associated with GoChop Services.
    8.1
    Ownership of Content:Excluding User Content, all content, features, and functionality provided by GoChop—including but not limited to texts, photos, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, video clips, data compilations, software, and the overall design and organization of the web app—are the exclusive property of GoChop and its licensors. This content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws in Hong Kong, Singapore, and other locations.
    8.2
    User License to Access and use Content:Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, GoChop grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use GoChop Services, including our content (described above) for your personal, non-commercial use. This license does not grant you any rights to (i) modify, copy, distribute, reproduce, publish, transmit, or create derivative works of our content without our prior written consent; and (ii) use our trademarks, logos, or branding without express permission, except as permitted by law.
    8.3
    Restrictions on use of our Intellectual Property:You agree not to (i) use our content in a manner that infringes on our intellectual property rights or those of any third party; (ii) engage in activities that could harm, misuse, or dilute our intellectual property, including unauthorized reproduction or commercial exploitation of our content; and (iii) circumvent or interfere with any security features related to our content, including any digital rights management mechanisms.
    8.4
    Our Trademarks:The GoChop name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of GoChop or its affiliates or licensors. You must not use these trademarks without our prior written permission, including in connection with another product or service. All other names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans on GoChop Services are the trademarks of their respective owners.
    9.
    Fees.GoChop Services are currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will present their pricing and any additional terms before you incur any charge.
    10.
    Disclaimers.GoChop Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Recipes, nutritional implications, and cooking guidance are general information, not professional or dietary advice.
    11.
    Limitation of liability.To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gochop Limited shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of GoChop Services. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed HKD 100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is higher. Nothing in this Agreement limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
    12.
    Indemnity.You agree to indemnify Gochop Limited against claims arising from your User Content, your breach of this Agreement, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
    13.
    Changes.We may modify GoChop Services and this Agreement. For material changes we will give notice within the app or by email; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
    14.
    Governing law and language.This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction. Where this Agreement is presented in other languages for convenience, the English version prevails.
    15.
    Termination and contact.You may stop using GoChop Services and delete your account at any time; sections that by nature survive (6, 8, 10–14) survive termination. Questions: [email protected].
